Awareness

It is a two way street

There is much that we can learn from others. The other people of our country and the world often have a unique perspective or solution to issues that we face each day. Or, may be able to brighten our lives by even a little.

And, we have much to offer. We have an awareness and skills in education, science, art, music, and other areas of life that we can share with the people of our country and the world.

We believe that this is one of the ways to approach peace. By understanding and helping each other. We can have it both ways.

Culture

Cross cultural training

There is often a lack of awareness of the culture of another person or group. Our natural way of thinking is that others are, "just like me." We often don't realize that they might be different, think differently, have a different world view.

Bringing the cross cultural world into our lives

We bring the foods, art, languages, music, and people of the world into our lives. Either by helping you to travel to these places or helping them to come to you. We can help you to learn a language, buy art from other cultures, or learn to cook foods that you have never before experienced.

Education

Training in awareness and special needs in education

There are many places where an awareness of the needs of special students does not exist. Where the student gets left behind or drops out of school.

There are also places where the teacher may know there is a need but not have the skills or training needed to meet those needs successfully.

Language acquisition and training

We can assist you in learning other languages. Learn English or Chinese with native speakers.

Hunger

There is hunger in the world

There is hunger here in the US and in the world. We are looking at causes and looking into ways to help alleviate this problem through food programs, micro loans, and other avenues. When there is hunger, it is hard to have peace.

Change

This might just change us

Getting to know others is a way to increase understanding, then respect between peoples. We might change in our own attitudes, reactions, and actions. In this way we can change the world, one person at a time. Through understanding comes respect, through respect comes love, through love comes peace.

Peace!

“Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.”
Matthew 5:9

"One day we must come to see that peace is not merely a distant goal we seek, but that it is a means by which we arrive at that goal. We must pursue peaceful ends through peaceful means."
Martin Luther King Jr.

‘Then he became one of those who believed and recommended one another to perseverance and patience, and (also) recommended one another to piety and compassion.’
(Surat-al-Balad (90), ayah 17)

"I believe that to meet the challenges of our times, human beings will have to develop a greater sense of universal responsibility. Each of us must learn to work not just for oneself, one's own family or nation, but for the benefit of all humankind. Universal responsibility is the key to human survival. It is the best foundation for world peace."
H.H. The Dalai Lama

"If you want to make peace, you don't talk to your friends. You talk to your enemies."
Moshe Dayan

"How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace,"
Isaiah 52:7

"Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared."
Buddha
